
Alberto "Cookie" Gutierrez
Alberto “Cookie” Gutierrez, 47, of Lorain, Ohio, who died Thursday, November 26, 2009, worked as a handy man and in construction.
He was born January 29, 1962, in Lorain, where he lived all his life with the exception of 1977-1979, when he lived in Puerto Rico.
Cookie attended Principe De Paz Hispanic Lutheran Church in Lorain.
He enjoyed playing softball, cooking and salsa and country music. His family said, he was very kind man, with a great sense of humor.
Survivors include his son, Alberto C. Gutierrez of Oberlin, Ohio; daughter, Tatyana O. Gutierrez of Oberlin; his father, Mariano Cruz Gutierrez of Lorain; brothers, Guadalupe “Lupe” Villegas of Saginaw, Michigan, and Luis “Marin” Cruz and Jose “Quique” Gutierrez, both of Lorain; sisters, Ignacia “Ana” Cruz, Juanita Gutierrez Davis and Cristela “Cuca” Gutierrez, all of Lorain; and his niece and best friend, Bienvenida “Bennie” Dominguez of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabel Villegas; his brother, Epifanio “Cuchie” Cruz, who died in July 2009; and other brothers and sisters.
His family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Principe De Paz Hispanic Lutheran Church, East 31 and Vine Avenue, Lorain, where his funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2009. Rev. Von Berlin, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Elyria, Ohio, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
