
L. Bernadine and Fred Shilling
L. Bernadine Shilling, 77, of Bowling Green, Ohio, who taught in Orrville, Ohio, public schools for 40 years, died Friday, December 4, 2009.
She first taught at Orrville High School and later at Orrville Junior High.
Bernadine, whose maiden name was Hill, was born in Malta, Ohio, where she graduated from Malta-McConnelsville High School in 1950. She received a bachelor of music education degree from Otterbein College in 1954 and later earned a post-graduate degree from Ohio University.
She married Fred Shilling on June 19, 1955, in Malta. Fred died August 10, 2006.
Bernadine was a retired member of the National, Ohio, and Orrville Education Associations. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bowling Green and a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Orrville, where she had been a choir director for many years.
She enjoyed crafts and RV traveling.
Surviving is her son, David A.(Victoria) Shilling of Bowling Green; and two grandchildren, Michael Shilling and Mary Shilling.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2009, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Revs. David Kowaleski and Terry Litton will officiate.
