Irwin E. Galan, 74, of Columbus, Ohio, a Lucent Technologies retiree who volunteered to help children read, prepared food for Ronald McDonald House and served as treasurer of Wexner Heritage Auxiliary, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Temple Israel, 5419 E. Broad St., Columbus.

John Franklin Scott II, 89, of Chillicothe, Ohio, a World War II veteran and farmer who had worked at North American Aviation in Columbus, Ohio, Mead Corporation and the Chillicothe Correctional Institute, died Friday, November 13, 2009.
